Course Format
The course involves tuition in 3 main areas - Knowledge Development, Open Water Evaluation Dives and Confined water training. We aim to keep all our courses to a maximum of four students, as we strongly believe that small groups are a key factor of the learning process.

Knowledge Development
The theory is completed with the help of an Open Water manual and crew pack. This is designed to allow you to study in the comfort of your own home and have materials to refer to later, after your pool sessions we have 2 very informal knowledge review discussions making sure you have understood your open water manual and then you will complete some multiple-choice quizzes and exams. We have an overall pass rate of 99% at Duck and Dive and there will always be instructors on hand to help.

Open Water Evaluation Dives
This involves four open water dives over a period of two days in which you will be required to demonstrate your newly learnt diving skills. Having made these dives successfully, you will have earned the world’s most recognised diving qualification.

You can complete these dives with us either in the UK or you can choose to complete them on your next holiday with another PADI Dive centre or use one our referral dive centres that we have across many holiday diving destinations please phone for details

We have a dive partner in Eyemouth in Scotland, who have a fantastic and breakfast, The Home Arms, they can organize boat dives and shore dives for you and help you discover the fantastic shore lines on the nature reserve of St Abbs and Eyemouth and once qualified come join us on one of our regular dive trips. Information about The Home Arms here www.thehomearms.com
